These days on most corners of Palanga there are cafes like the one in the previous picture. Every patch of land along pedestrian traffic paths sports a cafe, bar, or a food stand. But I went looking for parts of old Palanga that I remembered from my childhood when I spent summers here. Those neighborhoods were off the beaten track; they were not close to the beach, nor on the way to the beach. I went to get away from knick-knack and junk food vendors, and rediscovered this path along the Rąžė creek, with big old shade trees swaying over the water.
